Late entries will be accepted (with a $10 late fee) until 11 a.m., Thursday, March 22, 2012 at the Livestock Office. .
2. Dates and times:
- Arrival: March 22, 2012 (Thurs) 7 a.m. – 11 a.m.
- Check in: March 22, 2012 (Thurs) 8 a.m. - 11 a.m.
- Judging: March 22, 2012 (Thurs) 2 p.m.
- Release: Following the Market Goat show.
3. Entries are subject to the general rules. (NO OUTSIDE SCALES ALLOWED)
4. Registration papers are not required. Animals must be owned by December 31, 2011.
5. All goats will be clipped for show before arrival. There will be no shearing of goats on the fairgrounds. No clippers or shears which must be plugged into an electrical outlet are allowed to be used on Breeding Goats once they arrive on show grounds. Cordless clippers or manual shears are allowed.
6. All breeding goats will be toothed on Thurs, March 22, 2012. Exhibitor must be present. All animals will be shown as toothed.
All breeds will show together.
*Buck Classes
1. Kids (no breaking of skin or eruption of either of two permanent front teeth)
2. Yearlings (two teeth)
3. Two Year Olds (four teeth)
4. Aged (six teeth or older)
*Doe Classes
1. Kids (No breaking of skin or eruption of either of two permanent front teeth)
2. Yearlings (two teeth)
3. Two Year Olds (two teeth)
4. Aged (six teeth or older)
7.Show Superintendent will set the following special rules as set by AMGA.
Age: No breaking of skin or eruption of either of two permanent front teeth.
Milk teeth must be in place.
Horns: Dehorning is acceptable. Restraints: Exhibitors will be allowed to use halters or collars in the show ring.
8. Depending on the numbers, the milk tooth will be broken by weights at the discretion of the superintendent.
9. Awards will be given to first through sixth place in class.Thank you notes will be provided and must be written at that time to recieve your award. The Grand Champion will receive a $100 scholarship and Reserve will receive a $50 scholarship. If there are more than 7 head of bucks, a $50 scholarhip will be awarded to the Grand Champion Buck.
10. All exhibitors will be allowed to show for showmanship.
Showmanship: Exhibitors will not lift front legs of goats off the ground or brace the animal during the examination by the judge.
Divisions:
Juniors 13 and under
Seniors 14 and older as of March 1, 2012
Exhibitors must own and have shown animal in breeding class.
